33rd General Assembly of National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) ongoing

Kathmandu – The 33rd General Assembly meeting of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has commenced today. The meeting is being chaired by the pro-chancellor, Health and Population Minister Pradip Paudel, with participation from National Planning Commission member Dr. R.P. Bichha, NAMS Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bhupendra Basnet, other officials, researchers, and experts involved in health education.

Discussions in the assembly include the institution’s annual progress report, the current state of health education and research, future plans, and proposals for policy improvements. The assembly is also focusing on promoting quality health education across the country.

In the opening session, speakers appreciated NAMS’ contributions to health education and medical services in Nepal. They emphasized the importance of continuous research, technological innovation, and skilled human resource development to make the institution internationally competitive.

The 33rd General Assembly is expected to pass key decisions that will provide guidance for the future of health and medical education in Nepal.
