Kathmandu – The Health Insurance Board has signed service agreements with 26 hospitals across 22 local levels.

As per Section 9(6) of the Health Insurance Act 2017 (First Amendment 2025), each local level must have at least one contracted health service provider. With this agreement, the hospitals will function as primary service points for the National Health Insurance Program. The agreements were finalized in line with Schedule 8 of the Health Insurance Regulation 2018.

Following the new additions, the Board now has 417 primary service points, along with 85 referral centers, making a total of 502 enlisted health service providers. This has expanded primary service coverage to 376 local levels.
