Dr. Sangita Mishra Resigns, Likely to Become Health Minister

Kathmandu – Dr. Sangita Mishra, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, has resigned from government service.

According to sources, the Cabinet has already approved her resignation. Dr. Mishra, who had been on leave for the past six months due to dissatisfaction over secretary-level promotions, had only recently returned to the ministry following the Gen-Z movement.

However, with the growing possibility of her appointment as Health Minister in the interim government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, she decided to formally step down from her bureaucratic role.

Sources confirm that discussions are underway within Prime Minister Karki’s team regarding her potential ministerial appointment.
