President Ramchandra Paudel Discharged from Hospital—What Happened to Him?

Kathmandu — President Ramchandra Paudel has been discharged from the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center, where he was admitted on Saturday after experiencing dizziness and vomiting.

According to the hospital, the president was kept under medical observation for 24 hours and received necessary treatment. His condition had improved, so he was discharged on Sunday morning.

In a press release, the hospital’s Executive Director, Dr. Ratna Mani Gajurel, stated that President Paudel’s health condition had stabilized, allowing doctors to discharge him.

“President Ramchandra Paudel was admitted to the center after experiencing health problems. Following necessary medical examinations and treatment, his condition is now normal, and he has been discharged today,” the statement reads.

What Had Happened to the President?

Hospital sources said that President Paudel was diagnosed not with a heart-related issue but with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)—a condition affecting the inner ear that causes sudden dizziness and nausea.

Although he was admitted to Manmohan Center, doctors from the ENT Department of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) led his diagnosis and treatment. Following their care, he was discharged around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday in stable condition.

“He experienced dizziness and vomited three times on Saturday morning, after which he was first taken to TUTH. However, since no VIP cabin was available there, a cabin at the adjacent Manmohan Center was used. The main issue was BPPV, which causes sudden spells of dizziness and vomiting,” the hospital source explained.
