PM Karki Directs Health Ministry to Resolve Nurses’ Ongoing Issues

Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sushila Karki has instructed concerned authorities to immediately address the problems faced by the protesting nurses.

As the Prime Minister is also overseeing the Ministry of Health and Population, she held a discussion on Thursday with the ministry’s secretaries, Dr. Bikash Devkota and Dilliram Sharma. The meeting focused on the concerns of resident doctors and nurses who have been protesting over their working conditions and remuneration.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Karki expressed concern over reports of low salaries for nurses and directed officials to take necessary initiatives to resolve the issue promptly.

The meeting also reviewed the decisions and follow-up actions taken by the ministry so far, along with discussions on other key matters in the health sector.
