Kathmandu — The government has granted pre-approval to conduct an Organization and Management (O&M) study of 15 institutions under the Ministry of Health and Population.
The decision was endorsed during Monday’s Cabinet meeting, paving the way for a formal assessment aimed at improving structural efficiency, human resources, and institutional management within Nepal’s health sector.
With the Cabinet’s green signal, the ministry can now initiate a detailed survey to review the organizational setup, workforce capacity, and overall management practices of major health agencies and hospitals.
The institutions approved for the O&M survey include:
Department of Health Services
Department of Drug Administration
Health Insurance Board
Bir Hospital

According to officials, the study is expected to guide future reforms, enhance service delivery, and support evidence-based restructuring across Nepal’s health system.
