Sarlahi—According to the police, the ambulance was stopped at Hiralal Tole, Ghurkauli, in Hariban Municipality–5, based on information received about drug transportation. The ambulance, bearing registration number Ja 1 Cha 1558, is registered under the name of the Nepal Red Cross Society, Ramnagar Bahuarwa.

The driver, 37-year-old Surendra Rai Yadav of Yamuna Mai Rural Municipality–4, Saruatha, Rautahat, has been taken into custody.

In a separate incident, police also seized 52 kilograms of marijuana from 25-year-old Gangabahadur Waiba of Narayankhola, Lalbandi Municipality–14. He was arrested at Hirapur, Lalbandi Municipality–11.

Further investigation is ongoing in both cases.
