Hospitals Directed to Continue Services during Festive Holidays

Kathmandu – The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has instructed hospitals across the country to ensure uninterrupted services during the upcoming long festive holidays, including Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat, and Chhath.

In a notice issued by MoHP spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, hospitals under the federal government, health science academies, and other institutions have been asked to manage essential human resources and logistics so that patients are not forced to wait long for treatment due to extended public holidays. Even if full services cannot be provided, hospitals have been urged to operate at least partially.

According to the directive, critical services such as emergency care and surgical operations will remain fully functional throughout the festive period.

Extending best wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured during the protests of September 8 and 9, the ministry expressed gratitude to health institutions for their contribution during that time. It also expressed confidence that hospitals will maintain essential health services throughout the upcoming festivities.

The MoHP further appealed for cooperation from all concerned stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of this directive.
